Recently, a special column called "Gen Z on studying in China" was launched in the press of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and China Daily. It focused on 30 foreign students from more than 20 countries studying at SJTU, and demonstrated a credible, lovely and respectable image of China through the first perspective stories of Gen Zs.
There are 4 of the 30 international students who are alumni of the Pre-University Program of Lifelong Education College of SJTU. They are Khor Wye Wei (Malaysia) and Oleksandra Zadorozhna (Ukraine) from Class of 2021, Tan Pei Shin (Malaysia) and Soe Lei May(Myanmar) from Class of 2022. Since Gen Zs were born and grew up in the Internet era, they are more open to the unknown world with an open and inclusive mentality. During the experience as they grew up overseas, they have been exposed to Chinese culture and spirit through different channels and ways, and have a deeper understanding of China. As foreign students in China, they further formed a comprehensive understanding of China during their Pre-University studies, and strengthened their resolve to study in China.
